Do you think that by the time that day comes these tools will be "outdated" by newer, better tools?","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[{"id":"28648791","body":"Since a lot of these tools involve writing, I at first found it difficult to decide what tools I would use in a math classroom. However, I liked that the book broke up into the content areas. I definitely like the idea of having students create songs or rhymes on Audacity or Garage Band in order to remember formulas and other math skills. Although math is very methodical, sometimes it does just require pure memorization of formulas, which is often difficult for students. Having them create these songs or rhymes is a great way to help them remember, while also allowing them to use technology for class. I also was thinking of using a wiki as almost a secondary class textbook. I often find that when I read math textbooks, I really have to put the explanations into my own words in order to understand the topics. If my class had a wiki, with different pages for each chapter of the real textbook, students can write in their interpretation of the topics in their own words, making it easier for them and other students to understand.

\nBy the time we are teachers, some of these tools may be outdated already, which is a scary thought. Technology is moving at such a quick pace that there is really no telling what will be available in the next few years. However, I think many of the new tools may be similar to the tools we have now, just newer and improved, so these ideas will probably still be able to be used.","dateCreated":"1287424380","smartDate":"Oct 18, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"cmeaney26","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/cmeaney26","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}}],"more":0}]}],"more":false},"comments":[]},"http":{"code":200,"status":"OK"},"redirectUrl":null,"javascript":null,"notices":{"warning":[],"error":[],"info":[],"success":[]}}
